Long Days (Short Days) comes from an extended interest in the structures and ideologies supporting advertising. The sentence stems as a counterpoint to how we encounter billboards, ads which are often visually loaded and stuffed with demanding, sleek or soapy imagery    « YOUR AD HERE »    This work is rather a proposal of speech, of speaking as an action, or of words that do nothing, halfway between blather and idleness. At the crossroads of a busy day et une journée à bailler.

My initials stand for Air Conditioning or Alternating Current.

I find offices a fascinating place to work. I enjoy the aesthetics of bureaucracy and entrepreneurship, as well as the ways in which tokens of efficiency are visually represented. My practice self-reflects upon the economy of artistic labour in a production-driven society. As a result, I create works that revolve around coffee, mice, office plants, commercially available door handles, and—for the past few years— have begun developing an open-ended series of landscape paintings using heavy-duty truck tarpaulin and adhesive vinyl.
